Faculty: Alicia Chin

Alicia Chin began her training at the age of 4 at the Oakland Ballet School under founder and former Artistic Director of Oakland Ballet, Ronn Guidi. Alicia danced pre-professionally through high school with The Ronn Guidi Foundation for the Performing Arts, Western Festival Ballet and the Oakland Ballet Company as a soloist and corps de ballet member in both the student and company productions.  In 2016, Ms. Chin graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet and a Minor in English from Friends University, where she danced as both a soloist and a corps de ballet member in choreography by Stan K. Rogers, Brad Setser, contemporary choreographers Dominic Walsh and Melonie Murray, and modern choreographer Nick Blaylock. Alicia’s philosophy is that dance is a form of communication and self expression. Alicia strives to instill in her students a sense of work ethic and a desire to excel as artists and technicians, while still making the art of ballet fun, expressive, and joyful for all ages and abilities.
